Collegamento Wi-Fi gratuito.

La Luna di Quarazzana is situated 8 km away from Fivizzano, an historic town set amidst chestnut and beech woods which enjoys panoramic views over the Apuan Alps. In the words of the celebrated poet Carducci, Fivizzano is “a pearl among mountains”, set in a territory rich with historical beauty and showing signs of its own illustrious past, such as the fountain that Cosimo de’ Medici had had built in 1700. The surrounding area, known as Lunigiana, has been inhabited from time immemorial and still shows remains of ancient civilizations in the shape of stele statues, stone idols that date back to 2000 BC. It is traversed by the Via Francigena, an ancient pilgrims’ route from Canterbury to Rome, and dotted along the way with castles, Romanesque churches and medieval towns perched high on the hills. The picturesque seaside town of Lerici and the stunning villages of the so-called Cinque Terre are one hour away, and, for those who love the mountain in winter and skiing, Cerreto Ski resort can be reached in 40 minutes. La Luna di Quarazzana is a handsome ancient stone building of the 16th century that has been lovingly restored. Time seems to have stopped in this perfectly preserved farmhouse, and writers and artists arrive here from all over the world to enjoy its rural simplicity and the evocative surroundings, explore Fivizzano and the Lunigiana region in its entirety and perhaps be inspired by it all. Throughout the court of La Luna di Quarazzana classical music can be heard playing; the kitchen garden and its fragrant herbs have the charm of old days; the farm donkey and the impressive cat of the house seem emblems of tranquil contentment, while out in the woods deer and squirrels roam freely and falcons and regal eagles soar into the sky overhead. At the restaurant that looks out into the court one can taste the delicious food made from the organic produce grown on the farm or sourced locally. La Luna di Quarazzana has one apartment and three guest rooms, each with its own private entrance and with Wi-Fi provision. The walls are the colour of old plaster and the original natural materials, such as the “pietra serena” which is a gray sandstone typical of the area, have been exposed and create a welcoming environment.
